For the roof: I like it when you can already see from the outside what is inside.

For that, I got myself a Dymo at some point (one of those label makers). With the transparent boxes, you can only roughly see what's inside anyway, and you can't tell whether it's the diving suit or the latex catsuit. :p ;)

It is always very annoying when diving to have only the Catsuit with you.

They only remain dry to a limited extent. Paper absorbs moisture quite well, so it can stay fine for a long time. I would rather not store electronic items in plastic boxes in an attic, as significant condensation can form during extreme weather fluctuations. They tolerate cardboard boxes better. You would actually have to seal the plastic boxes and include silica gel to prevent moisture ingress. I could see this well with a box of tools. Everything made of steel had already developed slight rust after one year. Glass Christmas tree baubles also quickly lose their shine on cold floors.

Forget about airtight boxes in the cold attic, the temperature fluctuations of the day/night change alone would cause the boxes to inflate or collapse. The boxes are constantly dealing with pressure equalization and fortunately are not airtight. Colder air comes in every night and warmer air goes out during the day, sometimes quickly, also with condensation formation. That is why it stays dry inside the boxes, and as already mentioned, no sensitive items on the cold attic.
