Then pay for the plug out of your equity, then the problem is solved... everyone should have understood that YOU don't need/want it/or whatever. Others want it because it is a small part of saving electricity. Because you can actually gain comfort from it, but certainly not lose any.

And as I wrote before, not everything can be calculated in a business case. And if you really approach the topic that way, question your whole endeavor, you won't make a profit from it either, and you also won't save with a house, nor with rent.

If I always have to press a wall switch before the remote control, that is an additional action which may have to be done several times a day. Clearly extra work and a loss of comfort.

If you finance it from equity, it is clear that you have to take on debt for something else. The interest for optional extras is correctly calculated over the entire expected term. It is added on top. With interest and possibly interest rate increases of the follow-up financing, it certainly costs at least twice as much.

I never said you should do without it. You can gladly do it. I wrote that for me it falls into the category of uneconomical technical gimmick. Whoever likes the gimmick doesn’t care that it causes losses. So: buy! Same goes for the solar battery.

Absolutely right, we will still rent an apartment on the side so that we don’t save any rent.

Every house is different and so is every financial situation... the preferences of the house residents are also different...

And not everyone pays 100 euros extra for one or more switching-off options.

For these and other reasons, switching off is worthwhile for some and not for others.

Yes, it can be worth it. Either way, we are talking about tiny amounts here. For many, the saved 50 cents probably don't matter.

Of course, anyone who wants to should do it. But please not with the argument of saving money.

Definitely factually incorrect regarding the 50 cents.
