You can and may paint those things like almost any surface.

If it’s just one story, I would skip it. When I already read that the general contractor doesn’t want anything to do with it, all the work remains with you, including the openings in the ceiling, so also the sealing. With all the negative aspects. No guarantee then in any respect.

Bad example. My WAS is practically polished by the constantly dropped laundry in the chute.

I love our laundry chute. No more discussions about clothes lying around. In our house, it runs from the dressing room on the top floor, through the guest bathroom on the ground floor, into the utility room in the basement. The basement pipe is enclosed or bricked in where possible with Ytong stones, and we stuffed mineral wool inside. At the bottom, there is a flap that closes when the laundry has fallen through. In the ground floor bathroom, we used a simple inspection door for about 30 euros. So you don’t hear anything in the dressing room on the top floor. If anything, only in the ground floor bathroom, and I don’t need to spin the washing when I want to lie in the tub. We are satisfied.

Now let's not get carried away. What I linked was simply the URL of the post: threads / waescheabwurf hygiene wie sauber halten.33672/. If the forum software attaches the beginning of the first post there as teaser text, every responsible reader must please disregard it themselves. I can hardly be expected to distance myself from such content as well.

Simply place the washing machine where you need it. Saves the laundry chute and long distances… My parents also have one. After a short time never used again. And you still have to carry the laundry upstairs.

In the bedroom? If the washing machine is upstairs, you carry the laundry down to hang it outside. And then you carry the heavier wet laundry down, you have to carry it up from outside anyway.
