Hello everyone,

I am currently planning our new, unfortunately very small (2.18x2.48) kitchen. Since every centimeter of storage space counts, I hope you can help me with these questions:

1) Toe kick drawers: the drawers are intended for a 16 cm toe kick, is it possible to convert them to a 21 cm toe kick?

2) Corner cabinet 90x90: is it possible to install a Magic Corner or a similar non-Ikea product here that uses the storage space more efficiently than the carousel does? Unfortunately, there are no pull-outs for the 90x90 cabinet.

3) Sink/waste separation: due to space constraints, we can only choose a 50 cm sink cabinet. However, I really like the cabinets with the waste pull-outs. Is there a possibility to convert the 50 cm to a pull-out or shorten the 60 cm?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, but then you cannot use the aluminum panel, you would simply use a piece of the toe kick panel.

Magic Corner is not practical or possible for such a cabinet. Pull-outs only make sense for a straight corner base cabinet.

In general, the pull-outs can only be modified in width, not in depth, with some DIY effort. If needed, I can write more about this.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hello IKEA expert,

thank you very much for the quick response.
The crafting part should not be a problem for my boyfriend. Can you give me some more information about it?
Since we have to redo the connections for the sink anyway, we can make sure that they do not take up too much space.
I am looking forward to it - now nothing stands in the way of the beautiful new kitchen :)

Best regards

Nina

Hello,

there are various options to get a 50 cm wide but only 40 cm deep drawer.

1. You buy a normal 50 cm wide and a 60 cm with 40 cm depth. From the 50 one, you shorten the bottom plate and use the sides of the 60 cm drawer. For the 60 cm, you get a suitably cut board from a wood market and mill two grooves in the bottom. Or buy it ready from a carpenter. That won't be too expensive.

2. You take the 60 cm drawer with the 40 cm depth, cut the bottom plate narrower and mill a new groove on one side. Now you still need a suitable back panel.
a) The drawer was bought in Germany: From the wide back panel sheet, you cut out a piece and connect the two parts, e.g. with a piece that was cut out, using rivets.
b) The drawer was bought in Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland or France:
i) Like a)
ii) You buy a pair of back panel holders from Blum and insert a back panel made of wood.

3. You buy all the necessary parts for a Blum Tandembox plus and build the drawer completely by yourself. Other manufacturers work as well, of course.
