Yes, if you want to build a real passive house (PH). The alternative is an air/water heat pump (air-water heat pump). We have been installing them for years; they should be offered at a price comparable to a gas condensing boiler with solar domestic water heating.
Rhineland greetings
Recently, at a trade fair, a representative from Buderus advised me to go with gas because it would be cheaper in terms of initial cost; besides, you could support the water heating with solar.
Then I told him I would also like to have a fireplace as an auxiliary heating source, and he said there are also stoves with water storage that feed the heated water into the heating circuit to further support the system. Although you have to consider how often you actually heat the fireplace; it is supposed to be an emergency heating only.
Overall, of course, a gas heating system is cheaper in terms of initial costs than an air-water heat pump.
But these fundamental heating systems also strongly depend on the price; it is quite possible that the raw material price for gas will at some point skyrocket.
I always say, you have to heat anyway, whether with gas, oil, electricity, or something else.
