Hello!

I bought a used Faktum kitchen and am now looking for a suitable countertop.

I absolutely need a countertop that is 62 cm deep and 4 cm thick.

Do you have any ideas on how I could do this? The new countertops are all deeper than 63 cm. That probably wouldn’t fit together with my sink domsjö (with 2 basins - dimensions length: 82.0 cm, depth: 64.0 cm, height: 25.0 cm), right? (The new Domsjö dimensions are length: 83 cm, depth: 66 cm, height: 25 cm.)

Should I buy a countertop at Ikea and then have it cut to a depth of 62 cm at the hardware store?

What do you think? I am very, very grateful for any suggestions and ideas.

Best regards and thanks
Martina

Hello, with the countertop configurator from OBI you can calculate how much it costs to order the countertop exactly to size. At IKEA, this is possible as a Personlig countertop. The prices are listed in the "Kaufhilfe Arbeitsplatten".

I would take a look at the countertops from Ikea, but to my knowledge these solid wood panels are only partly solid, i.e. with particleboard core and solid wood veneer, there are also edge bandings included. That would be the most affordable solution.

Otherwise, hardware stores also have solid wood panels, but depths of more than 60cm are problematic. Hornbach has 63.5cm deep countertops from Kaindl, but only as laminate panels. If you can’t find anything at hardware stores and Ikea, you could also ask a carpenter, for them this is no problem. It is just difficult to find carpenters who offer fair prices for such small jobs.

Hello,

I had a solid wood board cut to size from "meterware" at the hardware store (4cm beech laminated wood). Of course, it is untreated, so you will have to take care of that yourself.

I overlooked solid wood. That is not possible with the worktop configurator from OBI.

There are both, solid and veneered.

Many thanks for your ideas! I have now found what I was looking for here: worktop-express.de (I won’t include a link just to be safe, as I don’t know if that would be allowed). They also offer 62 cm solid wood boards at an affordable price. Best regards, Martina PS: Maybe I’ll post a photo after all the remodeling/construction madness at my home.
