Soil investigation report on a property with existing old structures

Good day,
We want to build a new house on my grandma's property. Currently, there is still the house from 1956.
Now we need a soil survey for the new construction.
Can someone tell us if we can have this done while the old house is still standing?
The background is that we want to keep the old building standing as long as possible and only carry out the demolition shortly before the start of construction.

In principle, the building ground survey can probably be limited to the possible building envelope; regarding the existing house, this is already informative on its own: you can see whether it has settlement cracks, is damp, or similar.

What does the expert say? I would ask him how to proceed there. It's not the first house that has been demolished in the flow to then immediately start with the new construction. However, I would comply if he expresses concerns. The house probably has a basement, too? If you build without one, it has to be filled. Then nothing is serious or problematic.

why a soil survey? because of suspected contamination, water, unstable ground? or does the contractor not submit an offer beforehand?

yes exactly, the company only builds with a current soil survey. however, we already have the offer
