What do you think about the brand Eufy Security, for example? Or which Matter video doorbells and Matter surveillance cameras can you otherwise recommend to us? The recommendations from Mycraft were very, very expensive, so I wonder, does it really have to be that way? What can they do better than, for example, Eufy or other comparable products?

Chinese with all its advantages and especially disadvantages. Can you really take anything with video streams seriously when it says "battery operated" at the same time? 2K resolution, are we still in the 2000s?

Conclusion: Toy for beginners to get to know and later switch to a real system.

If you are building with a developer, try to persuade the electrician to at least install "smarthome-capable" wiring for an additional charge. That means sockets and lights wired in a star topology. Switches (additionally if you want) with bus cables either in an open ring for KNX, Loxone, or also star topology for cheaper "DIY solutions" that are easy to implement yourself. From the latest posts on this topic, it is clear that this infrastructure is the prerequisite for a "reasonable" SmartHome. A wireless solution in a new building is like installing repeaters instead of APs in a new building – pointless (my opinion).

If you should really buy the Eufy, I would be very interested in your experiences. I just looked at the description and the Amazon reviews for the Eufy 2C Pro. What is written there is hard to believe, and the many positive ratings are surprising. If you search for *** - reviews, it appears more differentiated. In particular, I consider the information about the runtime and all the AI talk to be fabricated, but I am happy to be proven wrong. In new buildings, as has already been mentioned, you should rely on cables. And that is usually KNX (expensive) or Cat6. With Cat6, additionally power, so you are not dependent on PoE. Wireless, especially WiFi, is great for retrofitting and for the corners where you forgot the cable. Matter is once again a hope for an open wireless standard, but until you have a larger product selection there, you will probably have to wait a bit longer.

Waiting is not a problem at first

It will take about 1 year until the house is finished.
When you search on Google for video doorbells and security cameras, you only find the well-known ones

Ring, Nest, Eufy, Netatmo ...

I just want to prepare everything that needs to be prepared for now, the smart home should follow in a few years step by step

Do you think Matter can become successful in a few years?

I have to talk to the electrician about what he can or wants to do, but unfortunately that will still take a few weeks

Metzler VDM10 with associated cameras. I don't think you can get the Nuki in there.
