Good morning dear forum,

We are currently building, the shell is almost finished and it is supposed to be a 165sqm city villa without a basement in kfw40+ standard. Currently, we are going through the house with the sanitary and electrical installations and discussing this and that.

There will be no wired smart home. However, Homematic as a radio variant for roller shutters and heating (only underfloor heating) should be used. Later, additional features could be added quite easily. Even a layman like me can manage that... :)

Right at the point of heating control, I am currently stuck. Does the control via electric actuators on the underfloor heating manifold provide a significant added value? Our heating installer has a clear opinion and says no! Once the underfloor heating is properly set up, the annual performance factor is better than with smart home. For me, that was actually settled.

By the way, the heating system will be an air-water heat pump. On the roof, there is a 12kwp photovoltaic system with a 6.5 kWh storage. Maybe that is somehow relevant.

What is your opinion on that? If any information is missing, I am happy to provide it.

Thank you very much for your feedback and best regards!

A heating engineer who knows his stuff isn’t an everyday occurrence…

I also know one ;) Ours said the same, and so we implemented it that way (however, there is a token ERR in the utility room)

Hi,
with ERR you mean individual room control, right? Good topic... There probably won't be such big differences between most rooms anymore anyway. I'm finding the decision here not quite easy...

Regards!

Take the heating engineer and lock him in your shell construction until the heating is finished. Finding someone like that is a challenge! If he also gets you an exemption from the ERR, that would be the icing on the cake. Nobody needs the ERR – they cost money and are "eyesores" on the wall.
