Hey, I'm digging up this old topic because it fits well with my current question. We are currently considering whether we should install a sliding door between the kitchen-dining area and the living room. However, it would only be possible as an external sliding door. On the one hand, I hesitate because of the costs, but mainly because of sound and odor protection. A "normal" door would provide a certain level of protection, allowing you to retreat to the living room even if things are hectic in the kitchen. What about a sliding door? Can someone share their personal experiences with me?
