Sliding doors in the house?

We are still looking for an ideal solution for our 2.01 m wall opening; unfortunately, the "Wandstummel" on the right and left are only 60 cm wide, so a normal sliding door is out of the question. We are therefore thinking of a high-quality folding door or folding sliding door. This is the door from the living area to the dining area with an adjacent kitchen; it should primarily always be closed.

Does anyone have a nice idea?

A drywall partition does not have to be made of gypsum board. You can use more durable material.

still only makes 1.20m (the opening is 2.01) and one side would be an exterior wall or the fireplace side, both look bad to me.
But we will probably take a 4-panel (sliding) folding door, and if necessary a carpet will hang there for the time being.
The carpet must look so awful that we quickly get rid of the provisional solution.

We probably don’t know your house design? So it’s hard to judge what would be more favorable: if you plan 60 cm somewhere, why should a 1.60m long wall look bad? A chimney, for example, usually looks better in front of a calm wall or corner than in front of a 60 cm stump. And better than a folding door. But all this is a matter of taste. I also like Dirk’s idea.
