The labeling suggests that the top of the plan is south-southwest?

Exactly, the entrance is from the north and the top is south / southwest

It is so rude ... where is the problem with placing a north arrow on drawings, then you don't have to interpret "where the entrance is, that's north," it can be to the right on the plan, it can be at the top of the plan, etc.

And, a site plan with a few dimensions would also be good.

Otherwise, I can only agree with Katja, first furnish to scale, both living areas as drawn are not usable and the parents' area is really oversized at 40 sqm.

Questionnaire not filled out. What is the budget? How many floors are allowed? Roof shape? Please look at the pinned thread in this forum and fill out the questionnaire. If I see that correctly, the parking space in front of the garage with 5m length is also extremely tight. One should already consider saving for a Smart car or similar. Everything else can only be assessed once the complete development plan is known. Do you also have elevations?

I think it's a shame that the considerable slope is not being utilized. After all, the diagonal height difference within the building plot is probably about 1.80m. That would allow for a nice west-facing terrace for the granny flat, while the main terrace one floor higher would be oriented south towards the public traffic area. Since floor plan design is not my forte, here is the site plan for the design professionals:

I had also hoped for a cantilever for the granny flat, but 1m in the construction area is not much. Still, I would probably scrap the concept:

Ground floor for the granny flat with west terrace / technical room / storage / garage,
Upper floor for living area / parents / bathroom,
Attic floor for the children with children's bathroom.

Possibly an outside staircase from the upper floor to the south terrace or a spacious balcony or both.
Money question – but input is missing there.
