Thank you for the feedback.
The draft feels like the hundredth iteration already. We actually thought it was almost final and only small details needed to be incorporated (exact stair length, kitchen, etc.).
I’ve already gone through the thing with paper and pencil as well.
The problem is the following constraints:
- Plot width 20m
- Double garage on the north side and directly on the house -> a lot of wall without windows -> house width max. 9.5m
- Living/dining area should be oriented toward the garden
- Bedroom also toward the garden
- Kitchen with pantry
We really like the open space; we have already seen it in a Weberhaus show home; we are mainly interested in the glazing over two floors, which creates a nice openness on both levels and brings the garden into the house. (see attachment)
If it was just about what is practical, then a Town & Country Raumwunder 100 would suffice.
I also find it extremely difficult to come up with something new; somehow I still end up with a similar result.
And going to the architect without any template at all, I don’t think is very productive; it’s not rocket science and the architect is not a magician. You should be able to handle that yourself as well.
How should I best start with a new draft? With the stairs? Almost every change affects both floors, and as already mentioned, you also have to pay attention to things like wastewater pipes, ceiling spans, etc.
Best regards
Jens
