Hello,

Mmm - 6.60 m is not really that narrow ... there are much more clever solutions. Does this design really come from an independent architect or rather from a provider's company?

Can you please post the section?

Rhenish greetings

The design comes from an independent architect. Why not good? The 6.60 m refers to the dining area? I don’t have the section on hand right now, I would need to scan it at home.

Consideration for the upper floor: Bedroom and dressing room at the front area facing the street. Towards the garden side, the two children's rooms and where child 1 is now the bathroom. That way, the kids wouldn’t be so much on display when you have visitors and would have a bit more privacy when getting ready in the evening.

PS: My children are 3, 6, and 8 years old and none of them sleep with their doors closed.

- thanks, that is a good idea and of course a good point about the door being open. You only know that once the kids are there ;) I believe it was initially planned that way because then the two bathrooms are on top of each other and that is probably less costly.

Large table .. 100 cm wide, people sitting on both sides, you actually calculate about 100 cm for chair pushing back, passing by, etc. That would already be the 300 cm.

Then there should also be a sideboard, and the terrace door should still be able to open.

Kitchen dark .. not in itself, but the work area is in the darkest corner of the room and you stand with your back to the daylight.

The arrangement of the children's room is probably also due to the fact that it is preferably oriented towards the west/south. Because it is also their living space, orientation towards the north/northeast means that when the children come home from school, there is no more sun in the room.

We have the 1m deep dining table and a room depth of 4m. On one side also sideboards, on the other side the terrace door. Fits wonderfully. 3m would be too tight for me there as well.

Here is a photo taken before moving in (so the dressers are still missing):

Here is also a good link on the topic of space requirements for a dining room:

...which was of course removed by Mod, see terms and conditions
But you can google distances
