We will soon also address the problem of the east orientation of our property. Therefore, this thread is very interesting for me.
If I have interpreted the floor plans and site plans correctly, the street is on the west and the garden on the east. The main entrance should definitely then be on the street side = west, right? But in the west you then place the utility room and the WC?
I can understand placing the utility room in the northwest. Not much will happen there, especially in winter. But what I have set my mind on is placing the kitchen in the southwest. Then in the evening, when I cook dinner with my wife, I still have sunlight. In addition, I can still watch who comes and goes while cooking. The idea is simply that I will spend 90% of the year in the kitchen in the evening – in the morning, there is at most a coffee before I leave. I also want to have some sun then, and sunlight does not disturb me when cooking – unlike watching TV.
What convinced you to place the WC there? What are the counterarguments against the kitchen facing west? I am aware that the neighbors can then watch me while cooking.
