Yes, that is completely sufficient for us, why higher? What’s the benefit of height? Except that the warm air rises and it feels cooler. Besides, we have a maximum gable height?? (or whatever it’s called) and with the current dimensions we are just meeting it, we don't want to go lower because the street is already higher and we already need a lifting system for the basement, otherwise we would need an additional one for the ground floor and a sewage lifting system. You have a ceiling height of 2.825m - 17cm floor construction - 25cm concrete ceiling results in 2.405m. If the concrete ceiling is now 20 cm, then it’s 2.455. Does the 17cm on the ground floor already include the floor covering? If not, you can subtract another 2-3cm.

As written, I don’t know the room height by heart at the moment, but I believe it is 2.40m. For us, completely sufficient, see my other response.

the measurement +0.00 is probably the top edge of the finished floor on the ground floor; +2.825m is the top edge of the finished floor on the attic floor (see plan drawing top view entrance area). Subtracting the ground floor ceiling or attic floor of about 25cm gives: 2.825m - 0.25m = +2.575m. Then subtracting about 7cm (seems rather little = no underfloor heating?) attic floor gives: 2.575m - 0.07m = +2.505m clear height. Plaster ceiling etc. gives about 2.48-2.49m (I estimate).

I might also be mistaken in the calculation right now. But the OP can say something about it.

I doubt that you can live entirely on the ground floor. Where are the bed and the wardrobe supposed to go? It was already mentioned upstairs: if you can't manage the stairs anymore (even with a stairlift), you can't just squeeze a bed into some corner. I find the 2 bathrooms on the ground floor totally exaggerated, especially since they might only be needed in 30+ years.

The office will be built so that it fits. The wardrobe will be placed on the wall next to the stairs; a 3m long and 80cm wide wardrobe with sliding doors will easily fit there. The bed will go on the wall facing the hallway, fits easily, even with a walker.

The 2 WCs on the ground floor (as stated in the initial post, a must-have) have our reasons (4 of us in the house, including 2 teenagers), it’s not just about 30 years from now and the guests shouldn’t have to use our bathroom but only the WC. And in 30 years, we will have completed the bathroom on the ground floor, even if it has a different standard and colors etc. by then, but we will be using the bathroom already "now" (as soon as construction is ready to move in). But everyone has different ideas.

And what do you think is missing to live completely on the ground floor?

The requirements were simply not thought through to the end, and then you don’t get good architecture, but rather a building where rooms are just pieced together. Too little engagement with the core of what makes up one’s own life in relation to what one thinks they need or want. This will certainly be a nice house where people live well, but it is not good architecture.

What would good architecture be for you then? Everything that we need for living is there. Regards
