Thank you for this food for thought :-)
At the very beginning of the planning, we had the same thoughts and completely agree with you! Somehow, we lost sight of it because we wanted to do most of the outdoor planning only once we are inside and know how the walking paths are.
On the dining/kitchen side (south side), we only have 3m to the end of the property. Is that depth enough for a terrace? Wouldn't it feel too cramped?
The point about the washing machine and dryer upstairs in the dressing room will definitely be reconsidered.
I would find it great if we could somehow integrate them into the bathroom. For that, the dressing room would have to be a bit smaller.

Thank you all for your feedback! I'm happy that it seems to have turned out well overall :)

Based on your comments, I have just changed the floor plan, windows, and the views a bit.
What do you think about it?
I like the east view so much better by far.
I can't think of anything sensible about the too many windows in the living room, especially because I love big windows ;-)

The trend is towards the 3rd terrace [emoji2] One can gladly make it a bit cozier. But the objection from is completely justified.

Yes, the objection is definitely justified :) But we probably can't manage three terraces ;)

Hello!

Since I always find it very exciting to see how all the planned floor plans have progressed, I would also like to show you our finished house and tell you whether we would build it exactly the same way again.
We started building in March 2017 and moved in after exactly 8 months of construction, in November 2017. So we have been living in the house for almost seven years now.
We would plan almost everything exactly the same as back then (but here I will only focus on the floor plan aspects):
-stairs oriented towards the dining area and not directly in the entrance area
-second shower on the ground floor
-direct access from the utility room to the garage
-living room separated from the dining area and kitchen by a wall
-platform stairs
-kitchen-dining area as the center of the house
-large expansion reserve in the attic
-second utility room on the upper floor with washing machine and dryer
-equal-sized children's rooms

what we would change:
-exchange the location of the children's rooms with the bedroom and bathroom so that they become brighter
-larger window front in the living room without “interruptions”

I hope the suggestions are interesting or helpful for one or the other and wish you a nice evening!

Very very nicely done. I really like your floor plan. I find the aspect of time and the changed perspective on a house interesting. Planned in 2016, back then no one really thought about working from home, today you will find a small office in almost every plan.
