Hello, what do you think about the picture? It shows the transition between floor and wall tile. The gap between the wall and floor was very large due to the slope of the shower. Is the silicone coming loose there? The joint also doesn’t look great. Unfortunately, there is always some water at that exact spot because the tiles are set a bit too low there. Currently, no water is running behind the silicone. We have been using the shower for 2 weeks.

Apparently, the joint was not sealed in one work step, and on the right side it looks as if the silicone is already peeling off at the top. This is not unusual in itself, but in a new building, it should not happen so quickly, so I would contact the builder and ask them to renew the entire joint. In three to five years, this will probably need to be done again.

Yes, I also only saw that in the picture, with the right, upper part. The builder unfortunately no longer responds. He did several things not optimally. We also have water standing in the shower because he set the drain slightly too high. 200 - 300ml of water remain permanently on the tiles. Unfortunately, I have no proof of the work done by the builder.. You simply can’t just spread something generously over it, can you? Alternatively, I thought of cutting into the joint on the affected piece, removing it, and refilling it? I would then basically start anew on the old joint to the left and right.

No proof?

Dragging over it is definitely botched. I would completely remove the joint and redo it, from wall to wall. You can do that yourself relatively quickly, and if you get one of those silicone scrapers (Fugi) from TV, it usually looks really good.
