Do you still remember how much you paid in total (including labor)?

Phew, we did everything ourselves. It must have been just under 2500 euros for gravel, chippings, curbstones, tiles. And about 20-30 hours of work by a layman.

But that really depends entirely on your own standards and the circumstances. Friends are currently about to spend 15,000+ for 40 sqm (paving, slope location, without personal contribution). That would not have been worth it for us.

I think that in hindsight too! It’s quite a lot of work... we also still have two small children and now, after 1.5 years in the house and the garden being somewhat finished, we are pretty exhausted...

You have to determine the size.
We have 45 sqm and it is almost too small.

At my parents' place in 2013, we installed anthracite-colored terrace slabs from FCN. Mineral mixture, gravel, the outer row in concrete. No lawn edging. Faded in the first summer, unchanged since then.
No frost damage.

We installed wood look from FCN. We have already been asked where we bought the weathered wood.

We were advised against WPC. Everyone who has it is dissatisfied. Some replaced their cheap hollow profiles after last summer, one has solid for over 100 euros/sqm and they turn green.
