Shoes on the terrace; where to put them? Would a cabinet be the solution?

we are planning the terrace. Due to some strokes of fate, we have not yet completed it, although we have been living in the house for 3 years now. Over the years, I noticed that in summer we are practically constantly parking our shoes next to the terrace doors. Since these are in the kitchen and living room, I hadn't actually planned any space for that. But that's how life is – I’m afraid that won’t change anymore.

How have you solved that? Do you constantly take the shoes out of the hallway and put them away neatly again? Or do you have a cabinet in the living room where the shoes are kept? Maybe an outside cabinet directly on the terrace?

no - but thanks for the hint to think about it further. Presumably, ours will end up in the garage, which can be reached dry-footed in 3 steps over the terrace. Currently, I have an open shelf outside, but there is a balcony above it, so it's dry. Do you have a roof covering or would it get wet outside?

Exactly, shoes are taken out of the shoe cupboard in the hallway, placed outside on the terrace, and brought back into the hallway when coming in. I definitely wouldn’t put a shoe cupboard in the living room.

2 pairs of slippers for the garden and terrace may stand inside by the Terra door. Nothing more! But they will be used several times a day.

At my mother’s place, there is a doormat on the inside of the terrace door. There are always 2 pairs of Crocs on it. In winter, they are often in the hallway because people don’t go outside as often then.
