Old existing fireplace may remain as is, no ventilation system, we have a narrow flap/door to open for this in the still original windows, in the kitchen only circulating air and the TV is placed about a meter behind the fireplace, so offset from the fireplace opening, we discussed everything directly with the chimney sweep right after the purchase

Great. Looks really awesome. My wife would definitely move in right away

May I ask how much extra the seamless shower was compared to tiling?

Hello,

unfortunately, I cannot tell you the price of the shower, as we have this floor almost everywhere; we only worked with 2B floors (personally, I find such a floor mix horrible).

The shower itself also received an extra screed; that's what the specialist for the screed floor wanted.

Therefore, the kitchen/dining area/hallway/toilet/bathroom and bedroom all have the screed floor.

Children's room/living room and the platform in the bedroom for the bathtub have the old oak plank floor.

On average, you have to reckon with 100 euros plus VAT here, but it's worth it; the floor is amazing, I love walking barefoot on it, easy to clean, extremely good with underfloor heating, waterproof, and also insensitive. No edges, no stains, and if there are any, you just wipe them away.

Exposed concrete is a bit cloudier, which we would have liked better, but it did not meet our requirements.

Attached is an older picture of the kitchen/dining area where you can see the floor quite well....

I also think the floor is great! Can you provide some more details about it? (manufacturer, product, etc?) Are there any problems with cracks?

Also (please consider everything from the perspective of a layperson, half-knowledge, and overheard information)

The floor is called Béton Ciré

The floor does not crack! (but we also have expansion joints, I think 2 pieces, like a concrete floor, which was one of the reasons we decided on it.

The manufacturer/distributor for us was Benton2 (they apparently sell the mixture and train craftsmen)
I contacted them and they connected me to a painter-craftsman business in Cham.

"Aumer" in or from Cham (they were really great, and after 1 year of renovation time you can really judge who is a smart aleck and who is not)

The normal screed, as with all floors, must be dried through, then it is leveled again with some mixture that has to dry for 48 hours, then the actual putty is applied (there are quite a lot of color options) we wanted concrete gray but even there were 4 or 5 color shades.

and then the putty must dry again and then it is sealed.
But just Google Béton Ciré, you will surely find more information?!

So first of all, I think it's nice to have our own photo thread instead of mixing everything up in the [house pictures collection thread]. There you really have to follow very consistently to keep track of which photos belong to which house. Forget about looking something up later because you'll only find the picture you're looking for after hours. I would suggest this principle for all construction projects: one house, one thread.

Now to the house: unique but coherent! I like the wooden floor better, but the solution is definitely interesting. The fireplace is nice too, but sparks flying when the logs crack... there's a meter of nothing and then the TV already has a burn mark on the screen. Maybe you should shield that with some kind of mesh plates to prevent anything from splashing out.
