Set up the neighbor's construction crane in front of our house?

Okay, thanks first of all for the answers. That means everything will take place in front of our house, although it doesn't concern us. The neighbor has plenty of space in front of his own house but is allowed to use other people's area so that his two businesses and house residents are not disturbed. One is a shop, the other a café with tables and chairs on the sidewalk. I will probably have to call the building authority and inquire after all.

Thanks for your effort!
Best regards, Chinchok

I would say the regulatory office. But it doesn’t hurt to ask, one of the two will know.

In front of your house is public space. Everything that happens there concerns the public, not you.

He must have cleverly arranged that. But who says the space in front of his property won’t also be occupied by materials, vehicles, etc.? The crane is still just a rumor so far, isn’t it?
You want to be able to implement construction measures too. If that requires certain space, you want to have a permit for it as well, right?

But ask the authority, they will clarify the matter.

Here is a picture of the location. The house marked in black is ours, the black circle is where the container is now, and the construction crane is supposedly going to be set up there as well. The house marked in white is the neighbor's who is building. Maybe the situation and my lack of understanding are easier to grasp now?

Sure, as I said, I don't want any trouble either. I absolutely don't mind and have given permission for the expansion. I'll just wait and see what happens. I can well imagine that the area in front of his house is not being used because of the cafe there. Everything should be kept as far away from this space as possible, otherwise people won't be able to sit there anymore ... they can't put building materials, construction vehicles, etc. there. A construction worker made the remark that where the container is now, the crane will be placed later. As I said, the business of the neighboring house is supposed to be spared from the construction work as much as possible.

I'll say provocatively that your business isn't affected anyway. Parking is to the left of the area, access to the house remains... just because the display window is no longer as visible from the street...? No, anyone who wants to can still do it.

Maria16, that is not provocative. The picture is distorted, the roof is correctly depicted, but where the cars are standing there is already another house. The picture is from GE Screenshot. The area in front of our house is always clear, and that along the entire length. The business thrives on walk-in customers who stroll along the shopping street. I do think there will be an impairment for the operators if the shop windows can no longer be seen. But as I said, wait and drink tea and see what happens.
