Set up the neighbor's construction crane in front of our house?

Hm, what exactly was the purpose of a shop window again? [emoji6]

Otherwise, everything has already been said. You don't have to convince us that you might be at a disadvantage, but rather the authority, or specifically inquire there. It's called a traffic regulation order here – the crane and container are standing on the sidewalk and parking lane, the area is fenced off. However, in front of our property and the area where our house is supposed to be.

How long is the crane supposed to be standing there? Is it potentially worth getting into a conflict? If so much is unclear, for example why the stuff is standing in front of your area and not his... have you politely asked him?
If no one has complained to you yet (not even the entrepreneur)... then I haven't understood the problem yet. Is there currently one? Or is it that it annoys you that the neighbor was so “bold” to leave everything at your place? If so, ask nicely why this solution was chosen. Maybe the public order office also gave the assignment or the construction company considered it necessary or – as already said – other stuff is going to be in front of the neighbor’s place?! Of course, you can always assume bad intentions (I sometimes do that too, to be honest), but is that productive? Sometimes (often?) there are very good reasons, which you won't find out if you don't ask. I would try that first, if it was bad calculation after all, you can always think about other ways.

There have apparently already been verbal disputes regarding the crane with residents. I do not live there myself; the house is fully rented out. The container does not disturb insofar as it is long but not tall. There is a clear view of both shop windows. I do not know the owners of the house. The building application (neighbor’s approval due to shading, etc.) was sent to me by the building authority. There was no personal conversation about the construction project with the owners. They also do not seek contact with the neighbors; apparently, they have never done so. I am not in any way confrontational or in conflict with the owners. However, I have known my tenants for many years and know that there will be trouble. Not from my side. At the latest, when the crane is in front of the tenants’ bedroom or living room window in the house and in front of the business, my phone will not stop ringing. That is why I tried to get information in advance in order to be able to act accordingly. But only the authority, whichever one, can probably answer that legally binding. Thank you very much!

Here the tenant/lessee probably has a special use permit, so the office presumably had no choice but to approve another use here.

However, the impairments must be tolerated. Naturally, only up to a certain extent. In case of subjective exceeding, one can talk about compensation claims with the builder, but ultimately a court would have to assess the proportionality.

Regarding responsibility, you have to inquire. It can be regulated differently in each municipality, but I would start with the regulatory office. Although the building permit may also include conditions, so inspecting the files (possibly for a fee?) at the building authority can also be helpful.

Not that you misunderstand me. I did not want to imply that to you either. What I was getting at. You know your tenants and suspect that there could be resentment. As a landlord, you have received the contact details of the neighbor from the building authority via the building permit. The neighbor, for his part, has not sought contact with you. But you also do not contact him yourself just to ask. Although it could be a chance to avoid conflicts. Again, I do not want to imply anything, but it sounds a bit as if the position is taken that he should please get in touch and one does not want to engage in dialogue oneself. But maybe I am just perceiving it wrongly. So no attack, just the attempt to show another perspective. Good luck going forward!

I have only known about the matter for less than 24 hours. I just wanted to ask if anyone is familiar with something like this. I no longer have the building application as it was more than 2 years ago, and accordingly, I do not have any contact information anymore. But thank you, I will manage and resolve everything myself.

Well, that just wasn’t mentioned anywhere before... Never mind. No one (at least not me) wanted to step on your toes, but just wanted to offer some help since you asked in the initial post what you could do... good luck!
