I wouldn't always plan everything to the very end, which is very time-consuming and then painful when there are other ideas again or someone comes along saying that the drains can't conform with the house. It's best to think and draw more sketchily: a piece of paper and a pencil help a lot with that.

I will try that in the future. You somehow have your dream ideas and then you really are disappointed when you can’t implement something. I just plan a bit further ahead.

I would like to, but my partner does not want me to show photos of the plot. Maybe I’ll still convince him.

We have that planned too, because at first a gut renovation was planned. But the house is actually not in a good condition, as a friend who knows about such things told us. We would also have to build quite an extension, etc. Maybe I’ll show that option sometime as well. I already planned it completely last year with the 3D program. Until we then came to the conclusion that we’d rather build new. But we’ll see what ultimately comes out of it.

Unfortunately, I don’t have those anymore, because the program only allows a limited number of projects and I always have to delete the previous one when I start something new.

That would of course be the easy and quick way. But I really enjoy thinking everything through carefully and planning directly down to the smallest detail. That’s probably a mistake – in the end, you’re all the more disappointed if it can’t be realized.

Absolutely nothing – not even screenshots or anything like that?

So an architect first creates a preliminary design at 1:200 scale (floor plan and building mass), and even in the 1:100 design – which still becomes the submission plan – no light switches are drawn in. The 'megapixel generation' tends to overshoot here. Perfection yes, but always appropriate to the planning stage.

Unfortunately not. :/ But it was basically nothing extraordinary anyway. So not that interesting either.

We are still in the discovery phase, but we have basically ruled out town villas for ourselves because they would not fit into the surroundings of our desired plot of land. Nevertheless, we looked at some offers and we really liked the offers from Bien-Zenker, because we would have had plenty of opportunities for our own design. On August 12th, we will go to the house-building information day in Schlüchtern to see what else is offered there. Apparently, there are also some model houses on the site, so we can take a look at the implementation right away. I am curious to see what awaits us there.
