They gave us by far the cheapest price. More precisely, almost exactly half of what the others quoted. On the second attempt. The first was also roughly in the range of the others.

What matters is that they really did a great job. They were always in contact with the neighbors, the doctor's parking lot had to be closed several times, very tight construction area. None of the neighbors were damaged, watering was done to bind the dust, flawless disposal proof, smooth construction site logistics. The doctor was so satisfied with the process that he supplied the workers with coffee daily. They had asked the pastor if it would bother him if they started at 7. At the town hall, they took care of alternative parking spaces, marketplace closures, water, etc. Simply the perfect all-around worry-free package.

The only thing was that I had to knock on every oak beam and defend the sandstone.

Our house is quite similar to a town villa. Imagine a different roof.

The house must fit the plot. Otherwise, it will be expensive.

Ah yes. Looks nice, I wouldn't have guessed that from the drawings alone. I'm curious to see how it will look with the final entrance stairs. Have you topped the wall remains in the background with zinc sheets?

No, not yet. The plumber stood us up in October. Now we have finally found someone who will do it. The plastering will be done in June and a flat roof will be added on top. The sandstone wall will be re-pointed and get a neat finish when the bricklayer is healthy again.

Where is north now? Or did I overlook that?

Glad to hear that, that’s how it should go. And if the price was right after negotiation, perfect. And sandstone, whether hewn or sawed, is selling like hotcakes at the moment. I’m about to have 25 sqm moved from Eisenach as a garden wall, but not by Leinenweber. Let’s see how neatly they work.
