Screed has been in for three days and is still wet?

Thanks for the explanation, I see it that way too. The construction manager wants to call the drywall installer after 1 to 2 weeks of drying time. We don’t want that either.

When do you think the drywall installer should come?

Yes, our house is about that big too. How long should we wait for drying time before we can do the walls? I'll check right away when the interior plaster was done for us, I think the interior plaster was at the beginning of June. Screed was three days ago.

How long something takes to dry cannot be said in general like that.

It depends on the weather and the conditions. Of course, also on the thickness of the plaster layer and the plaster itself. Gypsum plaster requires significantly more water than lime cement plaster. And especially the gypsum boards used in drywall construction almost absorb the moisture.
If the humidity in the house is too high, it quickly starts to develop mold and smell.

Even if the plaster is dry on the outside, I would always drill a small hole in the wall to check how moist the wall inside the masonry still is. You can tell if the drilling dust from the hole is wet.

The drywall installer should only start when everything is dry.
That is why he is called a drywall installer.

In summer, it takes longer to dry than in winter, but I would still wait about 2-3 months.

Let's keep things in perspective. No one waits several months. And you don't have to remove the so-called thousands of liters either; most of it will be absorbed. The painter will know if the substrate is already suitable for his coatings. Drywall workers as well. Just talk to the trades if the site manager is unavailable.

It used to be said that a shell construction must dry out for 6 months. That was back when there was still solid craftsmanship. Nowadays, construction time no longer depends on building physics constraints but rather on financing.

And it can happen that a house is finished in 3 months. If the solid construction takes too long, people simply choose a prefabricated house. But that can also go wrong.

A good acquaintance of mine flew on vacation the very day his house was erected. It was November and it rained continuously. During the assembly, the whole place flooded, the wood got all wet, and after a few 'months the entire house warped, the tiles cracked, and in the end the construction company went bankrupt. But at least he had a nice vacation. Trustingly, he then transferred the remaining amount to the contractor shortly before Christmas, and the house wasn’t even finished yet.

50,000 euro damage.

Never mind, these days there is an expert, appraiser, construction supervisor, inspector for every little thing, and they all know a lot. Sure, sure, of the 20,000 liters, 18,000 get absorbed inside the house. I think I missed my calling.

Whatever you do professionally, maybe you should find out how concrete hardens and what happens chemically. Concrete in its pure form is cement with water. Concrete does not dry, concrete sets, and yes, the water is largely bound in the process. Now you also understand why, for example, floor slabs are watered and covered in summer.

Nowadays it goes faster through aggregates. 6 months is nonsense, totally outdated.
