Weren't moisture sensors embedded in the screed? At our place, a little flag was sticking out of the screed in every room, and the painter didn't start until the value was right.
Screed is not a problem. Yesterday we were at the construction meeting, and the site manager said the screed must lie for 21 days until it is dry, and after 30 days it may be covered (laminate, tiles), but before that a test is done to check if it really is dry. CM testing?
So they seem to be exact about that. Now he said the drywall installer is coming already this week. Even though the attic is still wet. Both the floor and the film on the attic ceiling. After one week, in his opinion, it would be no problem, and the drywall installer knows exactly what he is doing. We rejected that and were able to postpone the drywall installer to Monday. We are supposed to make an appointment with him, but even Monday with 10 days is too early.
The problem is that three row houses are being built together, our screed was laid last. The neighbor is stressing all the time and wants to move in in August, and the construction company has been terrorized by him the whole time because of that. That’s why our site manager wanted to have the house connections installed and enter the house one day after our screed was laid. Otherwise, the city can only come for the connections two weeks later, which would be too late for the neighbor. I thought that was impossible and explicitly said that our front door would stay closed for 3 days. We were lucky that it didn’t work out with the city after all, and they will only come next week.
The same applies to the drywall installer. Yesterday the site manager said the drywall installer must come by Monday at the latest, even though everything is still so wet. The other two houses have been finished for a long time. Our screed took a bit longer to be laid, so the neighbors have had theirs lying down for 4 or 6 weeks, and the drywall installer is already done with both. I am pretty sure the reason the drywall installer is supposed to finish quickly with us now is that certain companies can then come who only come once for all the houses. And the neighbors don’t want to “wait” for us, and the site manager wants to do it quickly now so that the other houses can be finished. Unfortunately, I don't know much about it, so my question is, when is the drywall installer allowed to work?
I trust no one; both the site manager and the hired companies are in cahoots. Often I have acted according to my feeling and my mind, and that was always right. Nevertheless, at this point, I would like an expert opinion from you on what is right or what you would have done.
Thank you very much
