live and let live. if you can do it yourself then buy and have it installed. don't believe that you will get another plumber for starvation wages who installs internet parts for you

What exactly is not "ideal"? Do you think the experience would be better now with a higher-quality rain shower or a professional installation?

Good question! Very good question!
If it's the same with other "professional" rain showers, that it feels about 2 degrees colder at the top, then the experience is probably the same.
But I have to be honest (thinking about it), the "experience" was only during the first two times, or the first 10 seconds. In the end, I’m driven by my daily work, so I’m more of a quick shower person, where it has to be efficient, so rather the handheld shower. To put it clearly, I think the rain shower is totally overrated, and a stream that’s fixed from above is also not exactly practical. But it looks cool – and that’s the thing with us: we have one more hose since we already had a good thermostat.
We rather look for the experience when bathing.

Would we decide on a €1000 rain shower now? Phew… probably not.

I could basically choose here or just pay the product surcharge. Ultimately, I chose the Grohe Raindance Select S240 after I had also spoken directly with a lady from Grohe. I like the fixed shower (probably different as a man) from above, but honestly, I have tested the "rain function" as well as visitors, but I really don’t use it. In the other bathroom we have the Tempesta 210mm and I couldn’t tell you if there is a really noticeable difference. I would say, it’s nice and if it doesn’t cost much more you can do it, also the built-in installation, but you can also have a nice shower plus shower experience with less money, definitely. At first I wanted such a huge plate but luckily I was advised against it. I just checked, the Tempesta is available online for little money and then you can consider retrofitting something like that if it gets too expensive or complicated now. I definitely wouldn’t want to pay that surcharge and would rather invest the money in comfortable seating furniture or similar.

I have never missed a rain shower until now. When I am in a hotel or visiting people and take a shower, it is nice. But only for a very short time. The feeling while showering does not change significantly for me. What matters more to me are the view, water temperature, and general well-being. Such a rain shower is not nearly important enough to make a difference. I have not installed a rain shower. I use the handheld shower, sometimes in my hand, sometimes fixed on the bar.

Ok, I mainly wanted to know if you think the extra cost of about €800 (subtracting €200 for the standard not chosen) would lead to the same result as your own build with Amazon parts (€80 + pricing your own work time). Whether a rain shower is good or bad is another debate.
