There is probably no performance bond either.
Set a written deadline of 2 weeks. If this expires unsuccessfully, set another 2-week deadline, with the announcement to terminate the contract with all consequences, such as damages, additional costs for a new contractor, loss of benefit of the solar system, etc.
You can announce in the first letter that you will involve a lawyer if it is not fulfilled.
In my opinion, a lawyer should draft the letter. Whether you then send it in your name or in the name of the lawyer is your decision.
Keep us updated on how you have now reached an agreement with the contractor.

Thanks also for this post. If no appointment is named now, I will formally request the craftsman in writing with deadlines etc. and at the same time start looking for another company. Unless he waives the order on his own, which would of course be the easiest.
