We used the Shellys 2.5 in new construction. All deep boxes or even large electrical boxes. It works quite well. Always the question of what exactly you want to do with it.

Since only positive things have been reported about Shelly here, I am sure to install them with us. Now I am wondering how to make it easier for the not-so-smart household members to control the shutters with them. This raised the question of whether it is possible to close/open all Shellys on the ground floor at the same time? I saw that this is supposed to be possible with the Shelly Button… but is it also possible by long-pressing a selected button with Shelly? To put it in one sentence, I am looking for a way to give a command to all Shellys on the ground floor (7 pieces) at the same time. Preferably without battery-powered auxiliary devices. Thanks in advance to the Shelly experts here ;)

It is also possible without a switch to move all desired blinds up or down via groups in the app.

For a long press on the switch, the Shelly I3 must be installed at the switch. It can be configured to control other Shellys during a long press.

So you would have a Shelly 2.5 behind a button, which in turn has a Shelly I3 connected?! I read something about 3 inputs… can I then send commands to 7 Shellys with it?

Attention, it doesn't matter where the Shelly 2.5 is installed in the house. Only the Shelly I3 would have to be triggered by the switch, which then wirelessly addresses all the other Shellys. The I3 has 3 cables, that's true. I think for each specific button press there were more than 7 Shellys that run simultaneously through the I3. I think if the 3 inputs of the I3 are wired together, 3*5 Shellys can be switched. Furthermore, through scenes, much more is certainly possible. There are a few nice explanatory videos about it on YouTube.

The question is only why? Thanks to Shelly, no one here takes care of the roller shutters anymore. The shutters close automatically with the setting sun and open with it when it rises. Shelly is smart home and ideally is used smartly as well.
