Replacing Ikea dishwasher - pay attention to water connections?

Hello,

I have an Ikea kitchen with a Whirlpool DWF 407 dishwasher and the Ikea water connections under the sink. Unfortunately, the machine gave up after about 7 years, left a flood behind, and is now being replaced by a Bosch SPU53M55EU built-under dishwasher.

I have the following questions:

What is the best way to get the water out of the water tank? I found nothing about this in the Whirlpool manual (it is very sparse in terms of information).

What do I need to consider regarding the water connections? When I recently wanted an additional part for the drain distributor (one of those things with three connections under the sink where the dishwasher drain is connected) at the hardware store, they told me that Ikea does not have the normal standard connections. And Ikea did not have such spare parts. Therefore my question: How can I connect the Bosch there, what parts do I need, and where exactly can I get them?

I really have hardly any knowledge about this whole topic; when ordering the machine, I only paid attention to the fact that it has the same dimensions as the old one. I would be very grateful if someone could give me some advice.

Regards, Decrayer

Hello,
do you mean the ion exchanger by water tank? Why should the water go out? Put the device outside for pickup and that's it.

Why do you need another connection for the drain? The new machine is usually connected where the old one was connected.

Below, where you have to pour the salt in, there is water inside. Do you not have to remove that if you want to have the machine picked up?

And for the drain, I don’t need another connection, but I am wondering whether the new machine will fit there. When the old machine broke, I wanted to buy a sealing cap for the drain under the sink at the hardware store, and while I found such caps, none fit the pipe dimensions of IKEA. Therefore, I am now worried that the new machine might not fit. Or are these worries unfounded?

No. If you want, you could suction out some water with a hose and then let it run out.

Wait until the machine arrives and then see. The Atlant siphon has several connection options. One will surely fit.
