Definitely take before-and-after photos for yourselves. What I’m noticing right now: the camera phone next to the toolbox is one of the most important tools.

I can only confirm that. Over the weekend, I first made such a before-and-after album. It’s worth its weight in gold, and only then do many see the real effort.

Long, long ago, but since we are in the final sprint, here are a few updates. I think this is also interesting for those who, like us, have never had anything to do with crafts.

A lot has happened in the last 2.5 months:

(had to check again, it’s more than one update)

I’ll start somehow from the bottom up:

- completely renewed water and wastewater pipes (PVC)
- complete electrics including meter and network new
- windows and exterior doors (interior doors are ordered) new from the basement to the roof
- tiles in the hallway, cloakroom, kitchen new
- laminate in all other living rooms (except bathrooms)
- bathroom and guest bathroom with new screed and underfloor heating. Tiled halfway up
- all old walls filled, plastered, and sanded
- new radiators on the ground floor and upper floor
- roof half insulated, half expanded including heating

Current problems:

At the moment the heating is just on strike. But according to the heating engineer it is a known problem with this model. (Viessmann Vitodens WB3A. Gas combi regulator or an electrode)

Then today during the storm we noticed that it drafts quite a bit through the holes for the fittings in the bathroom. ........ I built the wall myself. A few Styrodur panels would have helped. Never mind, it just has to be sealed later when the tap is installed.

The third concern is my network distribution. I wanted to place the cabinet next to the electrical panel, but unfortunately it turned out that the wall is extremely thin and not load-bearing.

Well, there is still some time.

We had some highs and lows with the trades, but as of today, I am very satisfied and confident that moving in can take place without problems.

That all sounds pretty good. Congratulations!

Do you already live in the property, or when do you plan to move in? Will you manage with the 80,000 euros?

No, the move is on January 28th, or rather, the big items will come in on January 21st and on the 28th we have to move in because the new tenants are moving into our place then.

It will be tight but somehow has to be manageable.

The money will be enough. But we also paid for many "small things" out of our own pocket. That was also nearly 3000€ again (laminate, foam sealant, wood, screws, silicone, acrylic, etc. etc.)
