Nope, certainly not. But standard also has its price

Why not? A wood stove, as you mean it, is no longer approved today.

But I admit, I will take a look at my policy. Although I think I am safe, as there is floating new value.

May I exceptionally ask a quick question?

Should I take out an insurance policy after 1914 value with a fixed sum insured (i.e., upper limit) that of course adjusts to the construction price index?

Or an insurance that ONLY asks for my m2 and rebuilds my house in size and condition without sum limitation?

Exactly. There are legal regulations that must be followed. Energy Saving Ordinance, etc.
Structurally, everything also has to be done differently because of the load-bearing capacities that change as a result and so on.
The heating system is the only thing that remained okay...
Offers must be based on the condition as it was or comply with the legal regulations, and what is done with the money afterwards is pretty much irrelevant to the insurance.

Regarding insurance, I would first have to get the documents from the insurance...
No one has really said much about underinsurance or even mentioned anything about it except that we don't need to worry.
I think I can say more about it later.
You still worry about it even though the insurance sees it so lightly.

As for the city, it will be a difficult path. But regarding the damage, they probably have no chance of getting out of it because the adjacent building caught fire first and then much later the main roof.
But it's already bad that the city was or is aware of this for 6 years and simply has no money to properly maintain the hydrants.

But anyway, thanks already for the answers. Maybe also important for others to think about insurance stuff like this...
