I would like to chime in here, not about being a smart aleck, but about the lamella [emoji6]

Does Warema offer S-lamellas? It seems to me they only have the "normal" and the very technical-looking Z-lamellas.

We are also currently deciding on the lamellas. The woman needs it pitch dark, so we are going with normal lamellas and internal blackout. Light comes in anyway with venetian blinds, so the Z is rather out for us, it doesn’t really add any value (for us) and we don’t like the technical look that much.

What’s more on our mind: hemmed edge or without hemming, side-guided or cord-guided...

How do you do it?

Advantage of unhemmed: more delicate, understated look, smaller packed size, don’t crease as easily (they do warp, but no creasing).

Side guidance: possibly somewhat more wind-stable (no rattling/hitting against the window)

Control (wind sensor and "logic") according to the current status via KNX... is likely to be cheaper for us than conventional.

If complete darkness is desired, please resort to roller shutters; even with the additional profiles, venetian blinds are never completely dark, and if there is some wind, the slats open slightly and the room becomes temporarily bright.

This saves you venetian blinds and internal shading; if a uniform appearance is important, your way is of course also possible.

On the ground floor living room, kitchen we have planned Venetian blinds. In all other rooms, color-matching roller shutters. The control should be via Somfy.

Hi MundS,

Yep, that's why the Z-slat is also out for us [emoji4]

We actually considered roller shutters, but they don't fit with us for aesthetic reasons, and not for practical reasons either.
The full blackout only referred to sleeping (bedroom) – that might have been a bit misleading in my post.

Therefore, only internal blackout in the bedroom, the rest with venetian blinds, so that in the office or the children's rooms you don't have to sit in darkness (roller shutters) even when it's sunny (hot), but can stay there with some light entry and heat protection. At least that was our reasoning.

And having only one room with roller shutters, and the adjacent ones and the rest also with venetian blinds might look strange...

Who wants the egg-laying wool-milk-sow of venetian blinds and roller shutters can also take a look at the S_Onro. 100% dark but just as well full shading with light incidence possible.
