Hello everyone,

we were faced with the task of "choosing" a ventilation system by the first BU where we were regarding an offer, as we are still somewhat critical of the "SEVi 160" he proposed. Our planner recommended a Halmburger ventilation system - we definitely want to take another look/listen to it live. He also mentioned the BluMartin, which personally seems a bit bulky to me - and as soon as you connect secondary rooms, it tends to function more like a "central" system again. I also find the cassette filters quite expensive at €50 per device per year. We found the videos on the Bayernlüfter website very appealing, but are a bit skeptical about the 20 m³ maximum airflow. We also couldn't find any information about noise levels per ventilation rate (nor for the SEV, by the way - but according to the BU, you can hear it). We are looking for a ventilation system that achieves 40 m³ (which would be about 1/h for our bedroom) air exchange rate without being audible. Does something like this exist, or does anyone have experience with the mentioned devices? Is 1/h even necessary for the bedroom (2 persons)? Thanks and best regards. P.S.: I have the feeling that the decentralized fan industry is very fragmented and has many small players.

Hi,

I am also currently gathering information about this,

We have a half-timbered house and want to install a decentralized ventilation system.

I have also seen the Bayernlüfter, but I can't quite imagine how that thing works.

What other affordable options are there? Without shifting the costs towards higher electricity bills.
(Many measures seem to me like just shifting costs, but I could be wrong.)

I am grateful for tips and information.

Regards
MaHaus

On their website, there is a video - it features a development person, very charming and honest. We will now take the SeVi, since they offer and install the BU and they at least look quite okay. In terms of volume, they didn’t knock me off my feet, but it wasn’t that bad either. We also spoke again with people who said they always have it on 2 and that you get used to it. The construction protection is apparently also guaranteed at level 1.

There is also a Berlin-based company that is said to operate relatively quietly. We have decided on it, but have not yet installed it.

We have a SEVi 200. Before we decided on it, we visited a ventilation office in the Berlin area, where you could listen to 5 different systems in installed condition. Among them was a system from a major Berlin manufacturer. As mentioned – after the "listening test" at the same performance level and the very insightful consultation, we decided on it.
IMPORTANT: When installing, make sure that it is built exactly according to the description. Two important points must definitely be observed. More on request via PN.

Noise level: Yes – you can hear it. That’s quite normal. During the day – with normal use, you don’t hear it at 50% (level 2) at all – not even at level 3. We hardly ever used level 4.
At night – when everything is quiet – you can hear the system. On level 2 completely without problems. Level 3 – some already have problems (my wife initially said it would bother her, now it doesn’t anymore) – level 4 (100%) – you definitely hear it.
However, there is an interesting function in the control for this – a kind of Easter Egg (considering today is Easter). With a certain key combination (which is not in the description) you can activate a kind of timer. That means the system turns off for one hour and then automatically turns back on.
One more thing – in case of storm, you might want to switch the system off.

Oh, so there really isn’t any noise protection either. So you have to be satisfied with it and accept it, or find another solution if there is one.

I especially want peace and quiet in my own home, that’s why I’m doing it!!!

Best regards
