Hello everyone!

Now that the plaster is slowly drying, we have seen occasional cracks on some walls. I’m attaching some photos.
Do you think this is still within the acceptable range for Q2 plaster? Or should we report this as a defect?
The one by the window is the only bigger dent I have found so far, but I haven’t been upstairs yet because there was no ladder the last two times I was at the construction site. I think someone must have bumped into it with something while the plaster was still wet?
Would you report this?
And we saw some black discolorations on the floor in the ground floor – is that mold? I can’t quite imagine that, since it was only visible on the floor in the corners (no trace on walls/ceiling). If it is mold, does it matter if it’s under the screed? It won’t come through later, right?

So what I see here is not Q2. Rework is required. Close cracks, fill dents, etc. There is anti-mold spray containing chlorine, try it on a corner; if the black disappears, it is mold. There is still time to remedy this, as the mold has not had much time to grow.

I don't know if there is one, but is any action required? Because I currently only see the spots on the floor, and the screed will be applied in 1-2 weeks?

I wouldn't panic now. Install the screed and observe. After installing the screed, the moisture must leave the building! Very consistently ventilate at least twice a day, wipe the window frames, etc. (but only after a week)

Hi,

The painter will do the filling of the dent. These occur because the plaster cannot be protected. I would not report it as a defect, unless you paint yourselves, then he has to touch it up once at the end. The cracks look to me as if the plaster got drafts too quickly. It could have been avoided. After drying, pull tight and fill.

These cracks should not reopen, but with plaster it can generally always lead to cracking because the building moves and the plaster cannot bridge cracks.

If you want to observe the cracks, apply a 2 cm wide blob of gypsum plaster through the crack and see if it cracks open again. If yes, the cracks are caused by movement; if not, they were normal shrinkage cracks.

Best regards, Jann

Please no! Nonsense! Of course the plasterer must protect his work! And unevenness (not the bumping) must be repaired, because it does not correspond to the agreed and paid quality. And no! It does not fundamentally lead to cracking! The building does not move either!!!!!!!! These are classic shrinkage cracks (due to drying) caused by poor plaster workmanship. It was probably too wet or poorly applied or, or .... A gypsum patch does absolutely nothing here, as these are not settlement cracks. Again! Poorly done, have it redone!!!
