House 1930s reddish screed and linoleum

I would try to involve a qualified expert (pollutant assessor) because of the screed. Maybe it’s clearly non-toxic, then it’s a short appointment. But if it is something problematic, at least you are on the safe side. It’s best to describe the situation beforehand and ask about the costs for such an appointment.

But you haven't missed the mold, have you? Without expertise, I wouldn't do anything there now.

: Yes, mold did escape us!! Do you mean the white spots on the screed? We didn't notice anything as mold there. Below is a damp basement room, so it would be plausible that the supposedly very moisture-prone magnesia screed is rotting in one place or another. Is that a bigger problem from your point of view? The screed is supposed to be removed and replaced anyway, and the basement sealed in the medium term...

In the next room there is "normal" screed, but it also shows various discolorations, see the picture in the attachment. We have attributed this to the floor coverings, respectively adhesives and residues that have been on it over the years. Could this also be mold? How can we recognize it?

Mold is black. Spots or small stains in a cluster.
