Especially with the statements (which we also know well): "the painter will do that later..." you should really ask what exactly awaits you when you "are the painter yourself."

Because of all the Q information, one can also get confused. Ultimately, you can really only "feel" the Q.

Or the number: Q2 is a substrate for wallpaper or fleece. These cover shrinkage and settlement cracks. Those who do not want such things and want to avoid visible cracks must order Q4.

I don't agree with that ... in Bavaria, 99% of people leave the plaster without wallpaper and they all use Q2. I stick to my point: with a plasterer who knows his craft, you order Q2 and that's fine without having to do anything over it! Fleece is only used by us at transitions where the risk of tearing would be high ... for example at the inspection shafts of the controlled residential ventilation.

I know this completely differently here in the North. Even in our [Bauleistungsbeschreibung] it states that Q2 is only suitable for textured wallpaper. For painter's fleece, you would have to go higher in quality. It also seems to me that you can only "feel" it. Maybe it also depends on the standard you have for your wall condition, and maybe there are regional differences?

Also in Q2, it should have neither waves nor cracks ..... Q4 is then simply even smoother

Q2 is standard and skimmable. We don’t know [Malervlies] in the south. There, they plaster and paint, done.
