Purchasing a semi-detached house affordable or better to continue renting?

Commitments.. Why on earth not? Main income is very securely guaranteed, equity is available for incidental purchase costs, savings rate is also adequate after deducting rent.

The numbers don't quite add up for me. Or does the apartment have 150 sqm and is the garage included in the €1300? How old is the multi-family house?

The "albatross" is not small with the semi-detached house, but neither is the rent for the apartment. I would clearly favor the semi-detached house...

Some very few information. But I will summarize.

Purchase price, plus additional costs/furniture/renovation, you are probably at €550-600k. That is a bit very tight.

With a repayment of €1,300, that means you have to pay off for over 35 years.

Compared to the rental apartment, this is a bargain.
A rough standard land value might still be interesting.
Overall, don't lose a second and grab it, otherwise the next person will have it.
It’s financially feasible, the woman can certainly earn a few more euros again.
The civil servant bonus is not to be underestimated either, no disability insurance and no private retirement provision necessary, which makes the net income higher than it appears in comparison.
