Hello everyone,

we have bought a house and the house is completely made of precast concrete parts (reinforced concrete). Since we do not have a screed in the bathroom, we had to chisel out 2 cm of concrete in the shower area to create a slope for a level-access shower. Now the area looks like in the attached picture, and you can already see the steel. Tiles will be laid on top in a few weeks.

We have a very good tiler who will waterproof the area anyway, but we still wanted to quickly ask how we can further protect the concrete/steel in terms of corrosion protection, because the 2 cm layer of concrete is now completely missing. An acquaintance of ours from the construction industry recommended "Sikaguard" to us, for example.

Do you have any other ideas/suggestions on what we can do to protect the concrete/steel in the long term?

Thank you very much in advance.

Consult an expert.

From the gut feeling: There will be no floor-level shower there.
