If you can’t follow through with Plan A due to lack of money, you should at least try Plan B. Yes, such a thing exists... it’s a pity that you have a disillusioned view about it.
As I already said: try. Yes, say yes to the house and make an offer. However, you should also see the reality that apparently, for 6 years it was probably the price as well and not just the properties that caused it not to work out.
It was actually not about the price, but only that there was nothing we liked; really good houses here don’t get listed online and certainly not through real estate agents, but rather circulate through acquaintances just like it was for us. Through the neighborhood, we found out that a house in our area was being sold and immediately made contact. It turned out to be our dream house and we won’t be that lucky a second time. We can pay whatever price it takes, but for that we have to give up a lot and basically live and work just for this house, which is hardly what you want with two small children. You want your children to live happily and want to give them something in life. Therefore, for the sake of the children, we do not want to exhaust our budget and, in the worst case, say goodbye to the dream of owning a home if we cannot come to an agreement.
