If you can't keep up with Plan A with enough money, you should at least try Plan B. Yes, such people exist... it's a pity that you have a disillusioned view on this. As already said: try. Say yes to the house and make an offer. However, you should also see the reality that apparently it was the price for 6 years and not just the properties that caused it not to work out.

It was actually not about the price, but only that there was nothing we liked; really good houses here don’t get listed online and certainly not through real estate agents, but rather circulate through acquaintances just like it was for us. Through the neighborhood, we found out that a house in our area was being sold and immediately made contact. It turned out to be our dream house and we won’t be that lucky a second time. We can pay whatever price it takes, but for that we have to give up a lot and basically live and work just for this house, which is hardly what you want with two small children. You want your children to live happily and want to give them something in life. Therefore, for the sake of the children, we do not want to exhaust our budget and, in the worst case, say goodbye to the dream of owning a home if we cannot come to an agreement.

You can try many things. That’s why there are lottery players. It doesn’t mean the probability is just as low, but why would someone give a Porsche Boxster to complete strangers. We’re not talking about €10k here. If you need to sell quickly, you can certainly accept €10k loss but not this amount.

There is building land in the neighboring village, which is larger and even better and more popular in terms of the number of shops, schools, sports facilities, and transport connections, but for various reasons we don't want to go there.

This is very mysterious here.

What the seller doesn't know :) The seller will also orient themselves a bit on the price structure of the area. And if there isn't (yet) a wild rush of interested parties, one can also discuss the situation of the neighboring community - as said, cooperatively and nicely.
