Dear Yvonne.
The topic is prefabricated house yes or no?
That means for me that I can share my experiences, my reasons for deciding on this type of house construction. I have done that.
So no comparison of apples and pears.

The actual construction phase is usually shorter for a prefabricated house than for a solid building, as the shell is erected within a few days. The interior work takes just as long as with a solid building. If you want to compare something, that's the only thing you can compare.

A comparison from signature to moving in is not really comparable, and I believe the providers don't differ much in that regard. For us, this phase will last 12-13 months as announced. Other prefabricated house providers have cited times of 8 months. There are many factors that influence this. I don't believe that the execution planning takes longer with a prefabricated house provider.

It has to say the actual "installation phase" because the building is done long before that in the factory.

The timber frame prefab house supplier we visited in the factory back then has a production line that produces on average 2 houses per day at the end. They don’t spend that long working on the partition walls.

This production line is also the reason why, after removing all reservations from the factory contract, about 13 months until house installation are scheduled with them this year. Their order situation is way too good. But expanding capacities requires major investments.

The production of our house started 1 week before the installation date!

Yes and no, the interior finishing of the prefabricated house, as carried out by our provider, can be completely done in 4-5 weeks.
Because no screed was poured, but prefabricated screed parts were placed in the rooms with a crane.

Then the windows are already pre-assembled.

Additionally, our prefabricated house provider offers plastering of the exterior walls at the factory.
Only the corners were plastered and painted on site.

So theoretically, if you count the planning up to sample selection, it was about 3 months.

Planning and waiting for the building permit took about 8 months.
