Pre-graying of wooden facades

Do you have a wooden facade yourself or is that your experience or your assumption? It probably also very much depends on which pre-graying color you use and whether it somewhat matches the color of natural graying.

Personal experience. And no, there is no artificial graying that behaves as nicely as natural graying. If you are unlucky, the running-off graying also discolors wooden materials near the house.

We have installed DuraSidings in some areas. Even with the solution, there are differences in the degree of graying or how should one say? On the walls with roof overhang, you will see the differences in wood sooner or later.

Otherwise, Dura makes a great impression, but it is not exactly cheap!

Dura Sidings also looks really interesting! The fir used seems, because it is resin-free, to be better suited for pre-greying, if I understood that correctly. The reference houses on the homepage also seem to have aged relatively evenly despite the roof overhang even after years. I just don't know how durable fir is. Siberian larch or Douglas fir are supposed to be significantly more resistant and durable, which was also the reason why, until now, only these two woods were an option for the facade for me...

But as already said: from the moment you choose wood, you will have to accept certain differences in color in the long run. It is a natural product, but in my opinion, that is also what gives it its charm.
If the natural "too unpredictable" aspect bothers you, then maybe you should choose a different material?
