Old Swede … Garden house built with bricks? I have a wooden shed on compacted gravel
A 20cm base slab is standard for houses as far as I know. I think he wants to store heavy equipment, maybe excavator and truck parts? Certainly not wheelbarrows and garden tools.
Before I process 18 tons of concrete for a 10sqm garden shed - and that's just for the foundation slab plus strip foundation/including insulation, foil, etc. - I would first think about what I actually need. The foundation is enough for a small rocket launch base; for such a mini garden shed it is more than oversized. What tools or equipment do you have in the shed that weigh several tons?
Hello,
first of all, thank you for all the responses.
What would be a good, cost-effective alternative if I want to build a 4x4 device shed made of Ytong or KS stone, in which heavy items will also be stored on the floor for longer periods in the future (especially heavy building materials, like stacked tile packages and roof tiles)? Is there an alternative to a concrete foundation if the device floor should easily support about 150 to 200 kg/m2?
