Plot with 4% slope too steep, for example, for the garden?

Hello. We are currently considering what costs might still arise after the new construction. Our plot, on which the building will soon take place, has about a 4% slope. Now the question for us is whether that is already steep for a garden or not. We really can't assess that somehow. We have developed the following ideas. We will wait and see how the slope looks after the construction is completed. If it seems too steep to us, we would have soil delivered accordingly and have a slope built with L-shaped stones. Of course, that costs money. So I would be interested in your assessment of the 4% slope. Is that a lot?

4% - so 40cm over 10 meters? For a soccer field that's bad, but otherwise?

A terrace already has a 2% slope by default.

It's not even worth working with steps, although you can easily do that. It's almost not worth it.

Exactly, it would even be only 3.5% slope. 0.9m height difference on a 26 meter long plot. I just don't know exactly how the house will be affected by that later, since it has to be level.

Are you building downhill or uphill? If downhill, then at the terrace you have a step, a rock edge, a palisade, or a planter support. Downhill. Uphill the opposite. The rest of the terrain should be roughly moved by the excavation contractor right after the foundation planning, since he will have the excavator there anyway. Change your land as little as possible; altering the terrain is usually prohibited in [B] plans, causes trouble with the neighbors and drainage, and just costs money.

Hi,
we have a very similar slope, you hardly notice it and can shape it well in the garden. Of course, you have to be careful with [Carport] and [Garage], as you need level surfaces or an adapted [Carport].

Best regards,
Andreas
