So what "and now"? Look elsewhere or rent! You are solely responsible for your happiness.

I have found my happiness, even if that ultimately meant permanence. That was just my opinion on the last posts, which gave the impression "Just ask the municipalities where they would gladly give you a building plot." It's often not that simple.

So I also happened to find a plot of land in a smaller community near the desired city. They weren't marketing it themselves (and therefore not publicly), but through a company that also organized the development. However, the company didn’t have it listed anywhere online because the development hadn’t even started yet. Fortunately, at the time of my inquiry, 8 out of 40 plots were still available. The whole thing was only possible through telephone and email contact with the community. They had already posted the development plan online. I hadn’t considered the municipality before. But in the neighboring city (8 km away), there were 230 applicants for 20 plots in the development area of the same year, then distributed using the local resident model. So with a little effort, you can still get lucky.

That was not the OP who is searching.

I entered Zwenkau with a radius of 15 km... 55 entries, the unaffordable ones are probably central near Leipzig.

But there are still enough left for individual construction.

Well, you have to know that the dog is buried below Zwenkau.. you actually don’t want to go there. Besides, there is open-cast mining there. In the corners where you want to build a house, there really is nothing. Also nothing unaffordable.

That falls exactly into the area I meant. Regis-Bretingen, somewhere near Groitzsch, etc. You have to know if you want that. I wouldn’t want it. Zwenkau currently doesn’t even have a train connection to Leipzig anymore. But for those who are willing to commute by car, it’s a good option.
