Hello

we want to have a approximately 45 meter long area planted with plants that provide privacy. We have our eye on Thuja Smaragd. They should be relatively low-maintenance and provide high privacy.

Do you have any other ideas?

Thuja always reminds me of a cemetery...
Take a nice deciduous tree, like a beech, for example. It’s not evergreen, but depending on the species, the leaves stay on for a very long time. Otherwise, [Glanzmispel] or also [Liguster]. Both are evergreen.

Thuja is a plant that fits the generation of our grandparents. For [Buche] you almost need a [Buchen-Abitur] and a lot of energy to care for and properly prune it. We now have a narrow-growing [Liguster] on one side, but it's really expensive. If you have space, then I would choose summer-flowering hedge shrubs, so combine several species and let them (almost freely) grow.

If you have money left over: I find boxwood hedges very beautiful. They can be wonderfully shaped and provide a nice green.

Hello, if you want it to grow quickly and be green all year round, it would be best to plant an ivy hedge with climbing support. You can also plant clematis in between, which climb up the ivy and it looks quite nice. Regards
