Problem 4: The assembly was ultimately not difficult, and hanging it up was actually no problem. However, the issue is: even now, after the assembly, I cannot push the cabinet all the way into the corner, because otherwise it would create an angle and the sliding doors would no longer close flush with the cabinet wall. This is, on the one hand, a visual disaster, and on the other hand, I also fear that the material will be severely damaged, so I left the cabinet in the more level position (about 50 cm away from the corner). --> This is of course a shame, my wife is not at all pleased about it, but I do not see any immediate way to fix this effectively.

Errors and irregularities: 1. I moved the wardrobe with the feet extended. Of course, this was not a good idea; the feet are now pointing in all directions and are no longer usable. 2. We installed the interior of the wardrobe before the doors. However, I would do it that way again because that way we were already able to fill the wardrobe, and the feeling of "we are almost done" set in more easily for us. 3. The installation of the inner door (for us wood on the inside, mirror on the outside). The rollers at the top are screwed on. I attached the two parts on the left and right so that the part labeled "R" was screwed on the right side. This can be seen in the instructions afterward to be wrong. This led to the problem that the roller was on the outside, and the metal cylinder, which is supposed to execute the locking mechanism, was on the inside. This cannot work, so I had to remove the inner door again after everything had already been unhooked and swap the two parts.

Note: We assembled the doors in reverse order from the standard [Ikea] version; for us, the mirrored door is on the right, the wooden door on the left. On the one hand: this works; on the other hand: you actually only need to take a few steps opposite to the instructions, and these are only the steps that are not performed symmetrically. I should perhaps say: I usually have no idea what I am screwing in at any moment, when I screw a part at step 12. I do it because I think [Ikea] must know what I am doing since I do not. Therefore, it is not easy to imagine how and what you have to do to have the left door be the right one and vice versa.

Well then, congratulations on the assembled Pax!

I can relate to you - I also assembled my 2.50 sliding door Pax alone back then, and it didn’t go smoothly here either (even though it was my own stupidity - not IKEA’s).

Lastly:
The overall impression of the sliding doors is "not quite perfect." Whether that is due to me or not, I dare not judge. As can be seen from my above descriptions, on one hand, I do not work flawlessly, and on the other hand, in an old building, I do not have optimal conditions. In terms of quality, I am definitely not entirely happy with the result.
In hindsight, I would do some things differently, maybe even consider having Ikea craftsmen do the installation. This was not primarily a financial decision, but for an office worker like me, it is also enjoyable to assemble some things at home by myself.

So, as I said: with a sliding door wardrobe, next time I will consider whether I can and want to do it myself, because if the doors on the wardrobe are not properly mounted, it will quickly affect the lifespan of the wardrobe, I think. I have some slight concerns about what I produced there. At least it didn’t turn out 100% perfect.

Ikea has gained a lot of respect from me – especially through the problems and the related support. This is a note that companies should do much more in terms of customer-friendliness in support and goodwill, because that brings much more than advertising.

And last but not least: I had planned to do it – but didn’t quite manage.
Take breaks – these are thinking breaks and good for the nerves as well.
Check intermediate steps – I should have simply checked whether the wardrobe was standing straight. Well, I just didn’t think of that, and you are always smarter afterwards, but maybe just try to think along a bit.
Listen to your partners. My wife gave me good advice several times, saved me from mistakes, etc. I am basically a solo fighter and extremely reluctant to be told what to do, but we tried to do this together during the assembly of the children’s room. As harmoniously and calmly as possible.
My wife had a much better idea of what belongs where, and I am not as unskilled in handiwork as this overall account might suggest.

Overall, the room has turned out great, and the most important thing is: our daughter really likes it. And that’s why you gladly do all the work.

In general, carefully review the assembly instructions and do not ignore visual cues such as "align with a spirit level," that might be an addition.
