Hello,

we commissioned a landscape gardener for our outdoor area. Among other things, he paved the driveway/area in front of the house.

Unfortunately, the paving work did not turn out as we had imagined.

I have attached a few photos.

The problem is the height differences in some places.

Does anyone have experience with this? Which DIN standard can I refer to the company?

Hello fortuneflake

well, there was once again an "incompetent" at work.
Do you have an offer, and more importantly: does he give you an invoice or does he want "cash by the claw" for the botch?
Especially in this trade, many are around who do not master their craft and often also work off the books.

Yes, we have an offer. And of course we also receive an invoice for it, or rather, we would already have to pay quite a bit.

Unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied.
When we say something, we are immediately accused of nitpicking. Besides, we are supposedly not competent anyway, just the contractor.

On Friday, someone will be on site again and will try to shake out the height differences.

Behind the house, concrete slabs have been laid on the terrace. They are already wobbling now, and we are afraid that it will get worse and that after paying the invoice, we will have to chase the company.

So I can't even recognize most of the height differences in the photo. I believe anything under 5mm cannot be claimed, but someone who knows better should have something to say about that. However, I would not accept loose concrete slabs either!

if that has already been shaken loose, the stones won't go in much anymore, maybe still 1-1.5mm. Generally top-notch botching...

Hello fortuneflake ok, attempts at correction (I think that's what it will remain) are legitimate and must be allowed. But I wonder, what does he want to shake? The split was not properly leveled and the slabs (sorry) were sloppily laid. That won't work anymore. Remove the slabs again, level the split and lay the slabs again. What was actually used for grouting there? I assume that your garden landscaper does not master his work. Happens often. A neighbor of mine also pretends to be a garden landscaper. Mostly "black". But always incompetent. The internet is full of negative reviews (you should check your garden landscaper in this regard) about his botched work. Since he got 13 months probation, lost his driver’s license and has plenty of damage compensation claims (which he of course can't pay anymore), he has become quieter. We have the WWW, why don't you check the companies before awarding a contract? Steven
