Parapet heights different in the same room?

Yes exactly, in the pictures it is set by the architect at 138cm so that the top edge of the window is even. But for us the parapet is too high for the long window. We would like it lower. The architect says that the window could be enlarged so that the top edge remains but the parapet becomes lower.

Btw, what is so bad about a window above the bed?

OK, now I've got it. But I have to say that it already looks harmonious on the pictures... What would be so bad about a 138cm parapet height would be the other question?! In the bedroom, we have a strip window with a parapet height of 140cm (approx.). The screed is still missing, so I can only look out on tiptoe, but I think it's great at that height!

Not bad at all... More impractical for my taste. You basically stand on the bed to clean and so on. But it's all a matter of taste!

Ah now I understand it correctly. Pictures really do help.
I find it less critical now. I also have no problem with a window above the bed; in an earlier draft we had planned that too, but starting directly below the ceiling (no roller shutter above / east side). It brings morning sun and is not visible from outside (we have also planned that in the current draft in the common room, also on the east side and directly below the floor ceiling).

The bad thing about a 138cm parapet for me, being 190cm tall, is initially nothing, but if we also include the 13cm frame of the window, we get 151cm before you can look straight outside, and my wife is only 168cm tall. Well, you don't really look out of the bed window anyway, but in the children's room it's the same problem.

Why should it be so low? Set it higher, a light strip is not good for great views. For that, you have your floor-to-ceiling light strip. A light strip brings light from another direction.

I can still go 4 cm under the 168 cm and still be able to look out But the children's room windows are of course an argument... Hhmmmh... I think I would rather ignore the exterior view for the reason mentioned above. The windows should have at least a LITTLE bit of a function after all
